International Civil Aviation Day is today

Top News Desk: Today Wednesday (December 7) is International Civil Aviation Day. A resolution adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 6 December 1996 called on governments, and national, regional, international and intergovernmental organizations to observe International Civil Aviation Day on 7 December each year. Earlier, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) declared December 7 as International Civil Aviation Day to highlight its activities to the world and share its benefits with everyone. They celebrated this day for the first time in 1994.

ICAO was established on April 4, 1947, through ratification by 26 countries of the International Civil Aviation Conference held in Chicago in 1944. In 1994 they celebrated 50 years. ICAO’s main mission is to streamline, expand and secure civil aviation worldwide.ICAO also works to improve the facilities for civil aviation, encourage the development of airports and air traffic, approve aircraft designs, and meet the needs of the people of the world by making them safe, regular, efficient, and cost-effective.

International standards for air transport facilities, safety, approved policies and procedures, and efficiency later merged with the Chicago Convention. This includes civil aircraft pilots, ground management, crew, traffic controllers, aircraft instruments, and designs. ICAO’s commitment is to achieve the goals of the Chicago Convention. The realization of International Civil Aviation Day is about building friendship and understanding through civil aviation between countries.

ICAO observes that the people of the world are getting to know, understand and communicate with each other more than ever before. Through international regulations and agreements, ICAO is also quietly cooperating on the basis of safe and efficient aviation.
