Top News Desk: Mr. Anisur Rahman, the Election Commissioner, has officially announced that the National Parliamentary elections will take place during the first week of January 2024. On Saturday, September 2, Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal inaugurated the initial phase of a training program for election trainers.
During this event, held at the Electoral Training Institute in Agargaon, four Election Commissioners and the Secretary of the Election Commission were in attendance. The training program’s primary objective is to equip over 3,200 trainers in multiple batches, each consisting of hundreds of trainers.
Mr. Anisur Rahman, representing the Election Commission, stated, “While the exact date has yet to be finalized, formal preparations for the 12th National Parliamentary elections have already commenced.”
Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal emphasized that significant efforts have been made to empower Presiding Officers legally, ensuring a fair and secure voting process. He emphasized the need for the voting process to be both secure and inclusive to garner public trust. Ensuring citizens can cast their votes independently is crucial for achieving 100% reliability in the elections. The training for election officials is scheduled to continue until November 30.
