Top News Desk: Today, December 12 (Monday) is Digital Bangladesh Day. The Information and Communication Technology Department of the Government observe Digital Bangladesh Day on December 12 every year. This year the theme of the day is ‘Advanced Technology, Inclusive Development. With this, the day is being celebrated for the sixth time in the country.
It should be noted that in the 2008 elections, Awami League wrote in their election manifesto that the goal of 2021 is digital Bangladesh. Later it was decided as Rupkalpa-2021. Then the Bangladesh government on November 27, 2017, announced the celebration of ICT Day on December 12. It was decided to observe this day as Digital Bangladesh instead of ICT Day on November 26, 2018.
Today there are various events to celebrate the day. On Monday (December 12) morning, wreaths were placed at the portrait of Bangabandhu installed in the ICT Department (ICT Tower, Agargaon). After that, a discussion on ‘Progressive Technology, Inclusive Development’ was organized at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was the chief guest at this event.
