Top News Desk: It is not a hack, but the information has been leaked due to the weakness of the system, said Junaid Ahmed Palak, Minister of State for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) of Bangladesh.

He said this at the opening ceremony of the Bangabandhu International Cyber ​​Security Awareness Award on Sunday (July 9) morning.

Junaid Ahmed Palak said, this happened due to non-compliance of instructions of the CERT and technical errors. A system vulnerability exposed citizen’s personal information on a government website. A ‘Data Protection Act’ is on the cusp of preventing untoward incidents and keeping data sovereignty intact.

Before this, various media outlets of the country quoted the international media as saying that various personal information including names, phone numbers, e-mail addresses and national identity numbers of millions of citizens of the country were leaked from a website of the Bangladesh government.

In this regard, the government’s cyber issue monitoring organization BGD-Igov CERT has issued a situational alert on Saturday (July 8).

CERT says they are constantly working on data protection. From this organization cyber monitoring is done regularly to various institutions of the government through various channels and they are provided the necessary support. CERT says that they are working on the issue of information leakage recently.
