Dengue patients may increase in the next two months in Bangladesh: Health Minister

Top News Desk: Regarding the current dengue situation, Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malek said that people of 57 districts have been affected by dengue throughout the country. Among them, 60 percent of the patients were affected in Dhaka, and the remaining patients were in different districts.

He gave this information in a press conference at the Garpara residence of Manikganj today Sunday (July 9).

At this time, the health minister said that dengue has increased a lot in Bangladesh. In the meantime, 67 people have died. 12,000 people have been infected and 2,500 patients are undergoing treatment. Due to the rain, the water has frozen in various places and mosquitoes have spread and the number of dengue patients is increasing.

The minister also said that the dengue situation was not so bad at this time last year. Dengue has increased this year. Dengue patients may increase in the next two months. We all need to be alert to such situations. People who have been infected with dengue once have a significantly higher risk of death if they are infected again. Hospitals across the country have dengue units, trained nurses, and doctors. The health department is ready to deal with this situation.
